THE STORY OF
THE JONES

As I hit my 30s and a lot of my friends started getting married and having kids, I noticed finding time to hang out took a lot more effort than it used to. Understandably, as we get older we all have other priorities, and trying to organise a casual dinner becomes a scheduling nightmare.

While my friends were busy changing nappies or climbing the corporate ladder, I still needed someone to have a cocktail with, so I embarked on a journey to make more friends. However, I quickly realised this was A LOT harder than it was when I was younger.

Then in early 2023 my friend posted a photo at her cafe of a social group of women over 50 called, ‘The Red Hatters’ who had regular meet ups. I responded to her post saying, "ok, but why do I want to make a group like this for women in their mid 20s-mid 40s who want to make new friends?"

That’s when the cogs started turning. So, I did what I always do. I went to my online community to discuss it and I had an overwhelming response from Gold Coast women who felt the same. They wanted a club that wasn’t about ‘business networking’, that wasn’t about ‘self care & personal growth’, instead, it was about having a nice dinner, a dance, a gossip, a laugh, and meet some new women to have a FABULOUS time with.

Since I started sharing my cancer journey online, the community I have built has helped get me through some really hard times. There are so many amazing, supportive women who follow me and for a long time I have thought how do I share this community? How can I bottle up this supportive energy and create a way for women to support each other? I don’t want to gate keep all of you for myself, your magic should be shared!

Thus, The Jones Social Club was born!

What does ‘The Jones’ mean?

When I was thinking about what vibe I wanted at my events, I was trying to envisage a person that personified the energy I wanted. The one woman that stood out so clearly to me was the iconic Samantha Jones! This character is fun to be around, a loyal friend, a social butterfly and didn’t care about societies judgements. But above all, she is fabulous!

What does joining The Jones mean?

The Jones Social Club is (going to be) a community of women, who are looking to expand their friendship group, meet new and different people, and attend fun events.

The Jones will be running events that are designed to help you foster new relationships (in a non cringe way).

This is NOT about business networking, this is NOT a wellness hub, it is NOT about finding yourself.

This IS about finding your people, so you always have someone to go out with.

Events will vary depending on the needs of the community, from cocktail parties to casual strolls (obviously Harriet will need to join). Some events will be ticketed and some will be free.

Is it only for women on the Gold Coast?

No!

Whilst our in-person events will be Gold Coast based for now, our online community is open for all women.

Not only will relationships be built in person, but our closed Facebook Group will be a place for women to chat about things they love, share recommendations, chat about the latest tv show they binged, ask for advice, and get to know new people.

I want to share the support I receive in my inbox everyday with everyone!

Joining The Jones is completely free!

The Jones Social Club, is for the girlies who love to gossip over a cocktail🍸🍸 because friendship never goes out of style.
